If you wish to stay in the area for a day or two, the Celtic Dawn has clean, new and very comfortable accommodation at a budget price.

Our Location

The Cafe and Accommodation are located 2400 Gordon River Road about 500meters past the entrance to Mount Field National Park on route to Maydena. The Celtic Dawn is within walking distance to Mt.Field National Park where visitors can enjoy the many walking tracks within the park during the day and view the abundant wildlife and glow worms around Russell Falls after dark.  The Celtic dawn is a perfect place to base oneself for day trips to The Southwest Wilderness, The Styx Forest and Lake Pedder. The Tyenna River is just around the corner for those who like trout fishing and platypus spotting.  So there is plenty of activities to stimulate your senses.
We are a cash only facility and for more information you can contact us by phone.

We have taken a few pictures of the cafe for your perusal, there is alot of hand painted signs guiding you to our little haven. Like the celts we strive to grow much of our own produce such as vegetables and herbs without the use of "nasty" pesticides and contaminated earth.  However, growing here in the Tyenna valley can be restrictive due to the climate and some of our products need to be bought from elsewhere.  Growing at the Celtic Dawn is done under cover in a hot house, shade house setup due to the sheer numbers of possums and wallabies who have a voracious apitite for fresh vegetables.

We were only opened a year when we were nominated as "Tassie top ten coffee" by the Mercury newspaper 2004, and we continue to serve you the best coffee in the valley.
